During my recent stay at Schloss Thurnau, I was pleasantly reminded of the charm that this centuries-old castle hotel offers. The friendly staff made my late arrival feel effortless, providing clear instructions on how to access my room. One of the highlights was the breakfast spread-ample choices that would satisfy both the adventurous eater and the picky palate, a true delight! Though the modern design is functional, I did miss the authentic character that one would expect from such a historical venue. Still, the serene atmosphere, especially with not too many guests around, allowed for a peaceful retreat from the bustling tourist hotspots. And, if you find yourself craving a good meal after a day of exploration, the Sattlerei restaurant serves exquisite local dishes by the lakeside-a perfect way to unwind with friends or family. I left with a sense of satisfaction, looking forward to my next visit to this enchanting corner of Bavaria.
